Dr. Cruz is a licensed mental health provider and LCPC Supervisor.
She is a wife, mother, sister, and clinician whose own life experiences drive her passion to help others in the same way she has received healing. Her compassionate approach and gentle correction create a strong therapeutic alliance with clients. This stems from her true desire to help.
Dr. Cruz is an expert in assisting individuals with communication difficulties, childhood trauma, infidelity, and parent-child relationship challenges. She is also passionate about aiding other clinicians in developing and enhancing their abilities, fostering self-awareness, and deepening insight to bolster their relational competencies.
Life can be challenging, and those challenges often find their way
into our most important relationships. Whether you’re navigating
something alone, with a partner, or with a relative, the weight of
those experiences can be disorienting.
Our culture, background, and upbringing can also shape how we move
through the world in ways we don’t always recognize. This is something
I hold close to my heart. Growing up in Latin America as a native
Spanish speaker, then moving to a new country, gave me a lens on life
that I bring into every session. I’m figuring out this life thing for
the first time, too!
Some of the areas I’m especially passionate about include grief,
anxiety, communication issues, life transitions, gender and sexuality,
and women’s issues. I work with teens, adults, couples, and families,
approaching every session with care, empathy, and cultural humility.
My training in Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST) gives me a flexible
and collaborative approach. Because I believe no therapeutic model is
one-size-fits-all, I enjoy drawing from different models, particularly
Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, Emotion-Focused
Therapy (EFT), feminist-informed approaches, and somatic practices,
always through a trauma-informed lens. I believe that our
relationships can mirror our inner world, and our bodies often hold
what words haven’t yet reached. When we tend to both, healing has more
room to happen.
Outside of the therapy room, you can find me exploring the city,
watching a movie (especially horror or drama), crocheting, reading a
good book, or working out!
Whatever brought you here, I’m glad you found your way, and I’d be
honored to walk alongside you.
